So you want to learn how to make money online?

Ok, but first of all you must understand, that to make money online you must treat it as an internet business. It will be no different from running any other business, whether online or offline.

Any business, will require a lot of work to start up…work that you may not see much return on for a few months…but in the long run you will receive a far greater return than you would working for a boss.

So you’re still with me? The ‘lot of work’ idea hasn’t scared you off?

That’s great , because if you’re prepared to stick with it and work hard, an internet business can provide you with the ultimate lifestyle – you can make money online from home, the beach or wherever you feel like working. And the returns can be phenomenal – it’s not uncommon for 1-man internet businesses to bring in a very good 6-figure income each year!

For those of us with young kids, it gives us the ability to stay home with them, while still earning a very good income each week.

What are the best ways to make money online?

Really there’s no best way – what works well for some people might not for others – it’s a matter of finding out what works best for you.

The one trap that many people fall into when first learning how to make money online, is to join up with one of the many network marketing opportunities (like Herbalife, Amway etc.) that has found it’s way to the web. Not to say that you can’t make good money with them – people definitely do – but it’s no different from joining up with one that doesn’t have an online presence.

If you’re the type of person who can make a good income from network marketing offline, then you’ll do well online, but if you’re not (like me), then it won’t make any difference if it’s online or offline. Besides, why would you want to give your upline a cut of your profits every month?

Ultimately, you’re best off having you’re own simple website from which you earn money from. These days, with all the pushbutton website programs out there, even the most technically challenged person can have a decent looking website on the net in a few hours.

So how will you make money with your site?

   1. Selling products – information or physical, your own or dropshipping.
   2. Selling services – website design, search engine optimisation etc.
   3. Promoting affiliate products – promote other people’s products on your site in return for a percentage of the sale when someone purchases through your affiliate link.

The biggest gripe I hear from people starting their own internet business is ‘…but every idea I think of, someone else is already doing.’

Well that’s wonderful, awesome news!!!
That means that other people are making money from it!

Don’t try and reinvent the wheel when it comes to making money online. In 99% of markets there’s still plenty of room (& profits) for a bit more competition.
